Problem Note 39371: SAS® Stored Process Server might hang during shut down if the SAS Workspace Server is being monitored
The SAS® Stored Process Server might hang during
shut down if the SAS Workspace Server, SAS Pooled Workspace Server or
SAS Object Spawner is being monitored using SAS® Management Console when an Inactivity Timeout value is specified for the SAS Stored Process Server.
As an example, this problem will occur in the following scenario .
- An Inactivity Timeout value is specified for the SAS
Stored Process Server.
- The SAS Workspace Server is being monitored by SAS Management Console. To monitor the SAS Workspace Server, follow these steps:
- Under Server Manager select SASApp - Workspace Server►
<host name>
- Right–click on <host name> and select Connect
- Run a SAS® Stored Process using the SAS® Stored Process Server.
In this scenario, the SAS Stored Process Server will hang
during shut down when the Inactivity Timeout
condition is encountered.
When this problem occurs, the last line of the SAS Stored Process
Server log is:
IOM RETURN 0={compRef:700000000987860}->StoredProcessServer::StopServer()
The port on which the SAS Stored Process Server is running
will remain locked. You will need to kill the SAS Stored
Process Server process to free the port.
You can avoid this problem by not monitoring the
SAS Workspace Server, SAS Pooled Workspace Server or
SAS Object Spawner when the
an Inactivity Timeout value has been set for the
Stored Process Server.
