Usage Note 39354: Changing the host name and e-mail address for your mail server
To change the mail-server host name that is stored in metadata SAS Web applications, follow these steps:
- Log on to SAS® Management Console.
- Select Application Management ► Configuration Management.
- Right-click SAS Application Infrastructure and select Properties from the menu.
- In the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
- On this tab, change the values for Email.Host and Email.Port to the values that you want.
- Click OK.
- Restart SAS Remote Services and your Web application server (JBoss, IBM WebSphere, or Oracle WebLogic).
There are also references to the mail-server host name in the configuration files for the Web application servers that are used by the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform. To change these references, perform the following steps for the appropriate Web application server.
For JBoss
- Edit the mail-server host name in the file that is named sas-mail-service.xml. This file resides in the directory in JBoss-home-directory/server/SASServer1/deploy.
- Restart SAS Remote Services and the JBoss application server.
For IBM WebSphere
- Log on to the WebSphere administration console.
- In the navigation panel on the left, select Resources ► Mail.
- Click Mail sessions.
- Click SASMailSession.
- Change Mail transport host to the mail-server host name that you want to use.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Save link to save the changes.
For Oracle WebLogic
- Log on to the WebLogic administration console.
- In the Domain Structure panel, select Services ► Mail Sessions.
- Click SASMailSession.
- Click the Lock & Edit button to make changes.
- Change the value for the mail.smpt.host property in the JavaMail Properties text box.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Activate Changes button.
In order to change the e-mail addresses to and from which mail is sent, follow these steps:
- Open SAS Management Console.
- Select Expand ► Application Management ► Configuration Manager-SAS Application Infrastructure.
- Right-click Manager-SAS Application Infrastructure and select Properties from the menu.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Select Administrative and Error Messages. In the right panel, you can edit the e-mail addresses in the appropriate text boxes.
