39304 - SQL views of DBMS tables may not return aliased column names

Problem Note 39304: SQL views of DBMS tables may not return aliased column names

A PROC SQL view of DBMS tables which uses the EXISTS condition with a correlated subquery and column aliases to rename columns, may not return those new column names. Using the view in a Data Step with the DROP, KEEP or RENAME statement will return a warning similar to:

WARNING: The variable XXXXXXX in the DROP, KEEP, or RENAME list has never been referenced.
