Problem Note 38757: SAS® Web Report Studio might not be able to retrieve a list of filter values for reports that have an applied identity-driven prefilter

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Web Report Studio, you might see an error when you click the Get Values button in the Filter and Rank dialog box. The error appears when the report has an applied identity-driven prefilter, and the specific error depends on whether you are filtering a list table or a crosstabulation table.

If you are filtering a list table, you first see the following message:

The system was unable to complete your request

If you click Error Details, you see the following error:

An error occurred in processing the page request.
The value of a fixed prompt cannot be cleared: SAS.Userid
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The value of a fixed prompt cannot be
cleared: SAS.Userid

Note: The value shown in italics depends on the property used in the identity-driven filter. For example, the value might be SAS.PersonName instead of SAS.Userid.

If you are filtering a crosstabulation table, you immediately see a pop-up message with the following content:

Values for the data item xxxx could not be obtained due to a system error.
If you continue without cancelling, any existing filter based on the previous
selections from the list will be lost.

Your only option is to click OK. When you click OK, the Available values box contains the following message:

Error occurred getting the available value list for the data item.
