Problem Note 38119: The SAS® Forecast Studio FSNEWENV macro incorrectly allows you to create a new environment using an existing directory path
The SAS® Forecast Server FSNEWENV macro allows you to create a new environment using an existing directory path. If the selected directory path is already in use by an existing SAS Forecast Studio environment, the macro should produce an error and stop. However, the macro fails to display an error message, and continues when it should not.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
If you use the FSNEWENV macro (for example, to create new environments using batch processing) before you install the hot fix, you must manually make sure that the selected directory is not already in use.
A best practice workaround is to create additional environments from within SAS® Management Console using the SAS Forecast Studio plug-in, instead of using the FSNEWENV macro. The SAS Forecast Studio plug-in within SAS Management Console does not allow you to add a new environment that references a directory path that is already in use by another environment. A message that the directory is already in use is displayed.
