Installation Note 38930: Applying a DBCS hot fix in the UNIX environment results in incorrect search path to the executables

DetailsAboutRate It

Installing a double-byte character set (DBCS) hot fix on UNIX does not correctly update the
!SASROOT/nls/<language>/sasv9.cfg files, resulting in an incorrect search path to the executables.

The configuration file !SASROOT/nls<language>/sasv9.cfg is read after the
!SASROOT/dbcs/sasv9.cfg file, which results in the path !SASROOT/dbcs/sasexe being incorrectly inserted before the path !SASROOT/dbcs/hotfix/sasexe.

To correct this problem, for each DBCS language used, edit the language-specific configuration file
!SASROOT/nls/<language>/sasv9.cfg. Insert a -PATH option to add !SASROOT/dbcs/hotfix/sasexe before the existing line for !SASROOT/dbcs/sasexe.

In a correctly edited file, the lines will appear as shown here:

-path !SASROOT/dbcs/hotfix/sasexe
-path !SASROOT/dbcs/sasexe
