Problem Note 38902: Unable to create new SAS® AppDev Studio project due to error similar to "SAS Java Components ... requires Java 5.0 or newer"
When building a new project in SAS AppDev Studio, an error similar to the following error might occur:
Project Creation Failed
One or more constraints have not been satisfied.
SAS Java Components 9.2.0.0000 requires Java 5.0 or newer.
In order to workaround this error, you must refresh the compiler settings. To refresh the settings, do the following:
- In Eclipse, go to Windows ► Preferences ► Java ► Compiler.
- Verify that Compiler Compliance Level is still set to 1.5. In most cases, this setting does not need to be changed.
- Click OK.
After following these steps, you should be able to create a new project.
