Problem Note 38835: Incorrect results may be returned from SQL GROUP BY query against a SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server table with sort order applied
Under the following conditions, SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server can return incorrect results:
- The statement contains a GROUP BY for a single column.
- The table is sorted by the GROUP BY column.
- There is a WHERE clause on the GROUP BY statement.
- The query could not be performed via the SAS Scalable Performance Data Server
parallel GROUP BY optimization.
The SQL planner relies on the table being returned in its original order.
However, in the case of a WHERE clause being applied to
the GROUP BY table, the original sort order is not preserved.
