Problem Note 38531: ADJUST statement is ignored if the predefined pre or post adjustment operation is incorrectly specified
The ADJUST statement in PROC HPFENGINE supports the following pre and post adjustment operations: NONE, ADD, SUBTRACT, MULTIPLY, DIVIDE, MIN, and MAX. If a pre or post adjustment operation is incorrectly specified in the ADJUST statement, then PROC HPFENGINE ignores the ADJUST statement with the unrecognized operation and proceeds with the analysis. The procedure should flag the incorrect specification as a syntax error and go into syntax checking mode, rather than proceed with the analysis.
For example, if the SUBTRACT operator is incorrectly specified as SUBSTRACT as shown below:
adjust y = (pre) / OPERATION=(SUBSTRACT,NONE);
then PROC HPFENGINE ignores the ADJUST statement with the unrecognized operation and proceeds with the analysis without printing a warning or error message. The resulting forecasts are not computed as expected, since adjustments specified in the ignored ADJUST statement are not applied.
