Problem Note 38364: Using the TARGET= string in a drilldown value with the ACTIVEX device driver produces incorrect results
In certain situations, you can create a drilldown graph for the web where the new target page opens in the current web page by adding TARGET="_self" to the value of the drilldown variable, as follows:
drillvar='TARGET="_self" HREF="http://www.sas.com"';
You can then specify HTML=DRILLVAR as part of your SAS/GRAPH® syntax, as follows:
proc gchart data=sashelp.class;
vbar age / discrete html=drillvar;
run;
quit;
However, when using the ACTIVEX device driver with SAS® 9.2, the TARGET="_self" parameter is ignored and the new target page will open up in a new window. In addition, when using TARGET="_self" to execute a Javascript function upon drilldown, the Javascript function will not work at all. For example:
drillvar='TARGET="_self" HREF="javascript:javascriptfunction()"';
To circumvent this problem, remove the TARGET= parameter from the drilldown value and add PARAMETERS=("DrillTarget"="_self") to the ODS HTML statement as follows:
ods html file='sastest.html'
parameters=("DrillTarget"="_self");
