Usage Note 38183: The error "Memname GSEG is unknown" might occur when you run PROC GREPLAY
The following statements can be submitted to SAS® if you want to delete all of the previous graphs that have been written to the SAS/GRAPH® WORK.GSEG catalog:
proc greplay nofs igout=work.gseg;
delete _all_;
run;
quit;
However, if you submit the code above before writing any graphs to the WORK.GSEG catalog, the following error message is written to the SAS Log:
Error: Memname GSEG is unknown.
To circumvent the problem, place the PROC GREPLAY statements inside of a macro. The statements are then submitted only if the WORK.GSEG catalog exists. The sample code below illustrates this:
%macro delcat(catname);
%if %sysfunc(cexist(&catname))
%then %do;
proc greplay nofs igout=&catname;
delete _all_;
run;
quit;
%end;
%mend delcat;
%delcat(work.gseg)
Note that when calling the macro DELCAT (as shown above), change the name of WORK.GSEG if you typically write your graph entries to a catalog other than WORK.GSEG.
