Problem Note 38041: An error occurs in the application server when you start the SASĀ® Content Server
You might encounter the following error in the application-server log when you try to start the SAS Content Server:
INFO [STDOUT] 2009–11–10 11:48:52,379[main] ERROR
org.apache.jackrabbit.j2ee.RepositoryStartupServlet – RepositoryStartupServlet
initializing failed: javax.servlet.ServletException: Error while creating
repository
...
Caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.core.config.ConfigurationException: Workspace directory
already exists: default
If you see this message, then the SAS Content Server has not started properly and it will not be functional. This error is caused by a missing workspace.xml file in the /SASContentServer/Repository/workspaces/default directory.
To resolve this issue, make sure that the workspace.xml file exists. If it does not exist, restore it from a backup copy. If you do not have a backup, click the Downloads tab in this note to access a downloadable copy. Save the workspace.xml file to the /SASContentServer/Repository/workspaces/default
If the file currently exists in the directory and the problem still occurs, compare your file with the downloadable file to make sure that your file contains all the information it should have. Also make sure that the user ID that you use to start the application server has permission to read the file on the file system.
