Problem Note 37846: A segmentation violation occurs in the SASĀ® 9.1.3 SQL procedure after you apply hot fixes E9BD08, E9BD09, and E9BD10 in the AIX operating environment
In SAS 9.1.3, a segmentation violation occurs when you use PROC SQL after applying Hot Fixes E9BD08, E9BD09, and E9BD10. These errors only occur in limited situations and only under AIX.
The error has been found to occur in relation to the number of columns in a SELECT clause or in relation ot the number of rows in the tables that are used by the query.
If you do experience this error, you can verify whether the problem is a result of adding the three hot fixes by taking the following actions:
- Increase or decrease the number of columns in the SELECT clause.
- Limit the number of observations that are used by the query.
If either of these actions change or prevent the error, then the problem is likely a result of adding the three hot fixes.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
