Problem Note 37842: A single or double quotation mark in data might cause the Import Data task to incorrectly import the data in SAS® Enterprise Guide®

The Import Data task might incorrectly import a text data file if any variable value begins with a single or double quotation mark.

You can circumvent this problem in either of the three following ways:

Remove the quotation mark from the data before importing it with SAS Enterprise Guide.
Open the data using Excel, and then import the resulting Excel file using SAS Enterprise Guide.
If the data resides in a location known by the SAS server that is used by SAS Enterprise Guide, use the IMPORT procedure.
