Problem Note 37610: The Project Tree might become empty and is accompanied by a serialization error and disconnected nodes in SAS® Enterprise Guide®

The following error might display when opening, modifying, saving, or running projects using SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2:
A serialization error occurred in an external project subscriber Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index
Additionally, the Project Tree might become empty and links between object nodes in the Process Flow might become disconnected.
To circumvent these problems, select Tools ► Options ► Project Views , deselect the option Display full path of data and referenced files, close SAS Enterprise Guide, and save your project to a new filename.
