Usage Note 37500: Locations of log files for the SAS® 9.1.3 middle tier
In SAS 9.1.3, the log files for the middle tier are in the following locations:
Application Servers
- Apache Tomcat
- If Tomcat is started as a Windows service:
- /Tomcat–home–directory/logs/stdout.log
- /Tomcat–home–directory/logs/localhost_log.date.txt
- If Tomcat is started from a Windows .bat file:
- Output appears in the command window.
- /Tomcat–home–directory/logs/localhost_log.date.txt
- If Tomcat is started from startServletContainer.sh in UNIX environments:
- /SAS–configuration–directory/Lev1/web/ServletContainer.log
- Oracle WebLogic
- If WebLogic is started as a service, a UNIX daemon, or a batch process:
- /WebLogic–home–directory/user_projects/domains/domain/managed–server/SASManagedServer.log
- If WebLogic is started using Node Manager:
- /WebLogic–home–directory/weblogic81/common/modemanager/managed–server/SASManagedServer.log

- By default, this value is set to /SAS–installation–home–directory/SASWebOlapViewerforJava/3.1/logs/SASWebOLAPViewer.log.
- SAS® BI Dashboard
- By default, a log is not created for SAS BI Dashboard. You can specify the logging path, filename, and logging level in the BIDashboard.config file by using the LogFile= and LogLevel= parameters. The BIDashboard.config file is located in /SAS–configuration–directory/Lev1/SASBIDashboard/BIDashboard.config.
