It is possible to receive the following error when running SAS 9.2 on Microsoft Windows x64 or 64-bit Itanium-based systems:
ERROR: Read Access Violation In Task [ DATASTEP ]
The problem has to do with internal initialization and memory allocation.
A possible workaround is to install the 32-bit version of SAS to run on the 64-bit operating system.
