Problem Note 37012: A Read-access violation occurs when you run a query that uses a SAS® function with the metadata LIBNAME engine

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

A Read–Access violation error occurs when you run a query that uses a SAS® function with the metadata LIBNAME engine.

If you define a DBMS library in SAS® Management Console and try to run such a query, you receive an error similar to the following:

ERROR: Read Access Violation In Task [ SQL ]
Exception occurred at (032F94F6)
Task Traceback

As a workaround, you should pre–assign the library so that it uses its native access engine rather than the metadata engine. When a library is pre–assigned, you cannot use SAS® Metadata security for individual tables.
