Problem Note 37195: The SAS Universal Viewer does not launch
In some situations, the SAS Universal Viewer does not launch. When this happens the Microsoft Event Viewer has an entry similar to the following:
EventType clr20r3, P1 sas.univiewer.exe, P2 1.0.1.110, P3 4949f467, P4
sas.univiewer, P5 1.0.1.110, P6 4949f467, P7 84, P8 89, P9
system.nullreferenceexception, P10 NIL.
You might also see a pop-up window with the following message:
Sas.univiewer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information
you were working on might be lost.
In these situations, the workspace file is corrupted. To fix this issue, rename or remove the workspace file SASViewer.sasuvw which is located at C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Application Data\SAS Institute Inc\SAS Universal Viewer\ and then restart the SAS Universal Viewer.
