Problem Note 37187: Unable to create reports in SAS® Warranty Analysis when the data mart is on a SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server® that resides on a remote server
Attempts to create reports from SAS Warranty Analysis fail if the data mart is on a SAS Scalable Performance Data Server (SAS SPD Server) that is on a different computer system than the SAS Warranty Analysis servers. SAS Warranty Analysis uses SAS/CONNECT® software to connect to the SAS SPD Server, and an error message indicates that it is not able to connect to a remote server.
When SAS Warranty Analysis is unable to connect to the server, it cannot access the data it requires in order to create reports.
You can verify that SAS SPD Server is on a remote server if the SERVER option in the PARMSL.DATASOURCEIDS data set points to a server other than the SAS Warranty Analysis servers.
A workaround is to install the SPD Name Server on the same computer system as the SAS Warranty Analyis metadata server.
