Usage Note 37167: Using the NMON tool to monitor performance during SASĀ® Merchandise Data Integration loads
When you are running SAS Merchandise Data Integration loads, you can use the MNON tool to monitor performance on AIX. A typical command-line string to run the tool might look like this:
$MDI MDI_LOADFACT MDIP_PARMS_LOADFACT Y 10 3600
MDI_LOADFACT is the name of the program that you want to execute.
MDIP_PARMS_LOADFACT is the fact load specific parameter file.
Y enables you to see log scrolling (this can also be done with mditail).
10 and 3600 are for NMON. 10 is the interval between consecutive samples (NMON readings) in seconds and
3600 (6*60*10) is the total number of NMON measurements to be taken.
In this example, NMON readings are taken every 10 seconds until 3600 readings have been taken (a total of 10 hours).
This concept is also explained in the SAS® Merchandise Data Integration Users Guide.
