In SAS® 9.2 TS1M0 and TS2M0, you may receive spurious errors indicating that sufficient memory is not available.
One symptom of the problem is that for threaded procedures, utility files are created when processing should have been performed in memory. In such a case, the following note appears in the log file:
NOTE: A utility file had to be opened due to a lack of memory.
The process could also fail, in which case you will see one of the following errors:
ERROR: Out of memory. ERROR: Insufficient memory. ERROR: Utility file open failed.
The problem is fixed in SAS 9.2 TS2M2, and a hot fix will be made available for
SAS 9.2 TS2M0.
