Usage Note 36716: ExportCubes batch tool for exporting SAS® OLAP cubes in XML from 9.1.3 SP4 for import into SAS 9.2TS2M2

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Starting with the second SAS 9.2 maintenance release, partial promotion of OLAP metadata is supported, and SAS OLAP Cube Studio 9.1.3 will provide a batch utility to export all OLAP cubes within a given OLAP schema. The tool will be available via a hot fix for SAS 9.1.3, service pack 4.

The ExportCubes batch tool is a command-line tool that enables you to export SAS 9.1.3 OLAP cube metadata. This tool exports the metadata for your cubes into individual XML files that are stored in a designated directory. The ExportCubes batch tool exports all cubes on the metadata server. It is available for use on Windows and is executed from a DOS command line.

In SAS 9.2TS2M2, the ImportCubes batch tool can be used to selectively import the exported SAS 9.1.3 cubes.

If you are running a SAS 9.2 release prior to the second SAS 9.2 maintenance release, then you can follow the steps outlined in SAS Note 36842 to promote your OLAP cubes from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2.
