Problem Note 36670: Error when editing a formula in the in Table View of SAS® Strategic Performance Management
In SAS Strategic Perfromance Management release 2.4 and 2.4.1, if your metric attributes comprise two or more pages and you attempt to apply a formula to the last metric attribute, you will encounter an error.
As an example, assume you have a scorecard with 10 metric attributes. The table is customized to display 5 columns on each page. The final (10th) metric attribute is "Total", and in order to see this column, you must view the second page of the table. If you select the option to apply a formula to the Total metric attribute (the last metric attribute, which appears on the second page), you will encounter the following:
An error has occurred in the system, and the administrator of the application has been notified. You have been logged off and will automatically be redirected to the SAS Portal in 1 minute.
You may also encounter the following errors in your server logs:
ERROR [ExternalValueUtility] Error getting Spm ElementColumn: java.lang.NullPointerException
ERROR [ColumnFormulaAction] java.lang.NullPointerException
To circumvent this problem, customize your table to show all of the metric attributes on a single page.
