Problem Note 36602: An interrupted process in a z/OS operating environment intermittently stays active, which consumes CPU resources
When an active process in a z/OS environment is interrupted in the middle of processing, it can end up in a loop. The loop occurs if the process is interrupted while there is a
pending asynchronous I/O request.
An interruption is most commonly triggered by pressing the key that is assigned as the
attention-interrupt key on your terminal or from a client session in which someone
simultaneiously presses CTRL+BREAK.
You can set the SAS® system option SYNCHIO to circumvent this problem.
This option should be set in the z/OS session.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
A process in a z/OS operating environment that is prematurely interrupted might remain active and consumes CPU resources. This happens if the interruption occurs while there is a pending asynchronous I/O request.
