Problem Note 36548: When you maximize the Properties dialog box for a SAS® data set, only 17 columns of the data set display and tabs might not be visible

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

This problem occurs in the following scenario:

  1. Open a library in SAS Explorer.
  2. Right-click a SAS data set.
  3. Select View Columns.

The Properties dialog box appears and the Columns tab is displayed. When you maximize the Properties dialog box by using either the Maximize button or the ZOOM command, some of the columns are hidden and there are empty lines below the last visible column. In addition, the tabs in the Properties dialog box are not visible.

This is an intermittent problem and typically occurs when the SAS data set has more than 17 columns.

To see the hidden names for each column, click the last visible column and scroll down the data set. You can also click the Maximize button again to restore the Properties dialog box to its default size. Doing this should also make the tabs visible in the Properties dialog box.
