When you attempt to install SAS 9.2 from media or the SAS Software Depot, this error message displays:

A problem was encountered copying 
C:\SAS Software Depot\staging\<order_number>\
sid_files\SAS92_<order_number>_<site_number>_Win_Wrkstn.txt

The message is an indication that the SAS^® Deployment Wizard cannot find a required SAS installation data file (SID file). This message appears when the original SID file has been deleted from the sid_files directory of the SAS Software Depot. For example, when an original expired SID file has been replaced with a renewal SID file, you might see this message.

When you renew the SID file in a SAS Software Depot, keep these points in mind:

• Ensure that BOTH original and renewal SID files are stored in the sid_files folder.
• If you have, or are creating, CD or DVD image directories, also manually copy the renewal SID file to the sid_files directory on the first disk.
• When installing from this depot or media, point to the renewal SID file when prompted during installation.
