Usage Note 36644: "ERROR: Undetermined I/O failure" occurs when using network paths in SAS® Stored Processes
The following error might occur when attempting to read from or write to a network path in a stored process:
ERROR: Undetermined I/O failure.
This error typically occurs when the account that is executing the stored process does not have the necessary Read or Write access to the specified network path. In general, the following guidelines apply:
- If you execute your stored processes on a SAS® Stored Process Server, then the sassrv account (or the login account for SAS General Servers) must have the appropriate Read or Write access to the files and the directory paths that you want to allocate in stored process code.
- If you execute your stored processes on a workspace server, then the connecting user ID must have the appropriate Read or Write access to the files and the directory paths that you want to allocate in stored process code.
