Usage Note 36451: Attempting to apply a SAS® 9.2 SID file to a SAS® 9.1.3 installation on UNIX results in a "Table of Contents" error message
The release of a SAS Installation Data (SID) file must match the
release of the SAS installation.
Attempting to apply a SAS Installation Data file for
SAS 9.2 to a SAS 9.1.3 installation will cause an error to
be generated. Here is a demonstration of this scenario using
the sassetup script found in the directory where SAS 9.1.3 is installed:
Enter the filename or directory path containing your SAS Installation Data.
-->/tmp/SAS92_012345_70076543_LINUX_X86-32.txt
ERROR:
The SAS Installation Data file does not contain a valid Table of Contents.
The SAS Installation Data file supplied is invalid.
Please provide a valid one and retry.
Before you renew your license, ensure that the RELEASE= value in the
SAS Installation Data file matches the release of of your current SAS installation.
The release of the installation is shown at the top of any SAS log file.
Here are examples from SAS 9.1.3 and SAS 9.2 log files:
