Installation Note 36410: Microsoft Office Access Database Engine 2007 is not installed on European-language editions of some Microsoft operating systems
By default, during the installation of SAS® 9.2 in some non-English editions of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Access Database Engine 2007 is not listed on the System Requirement Wizard page as one of the available components to install.
These components are used by third-party applications to read data from Microsoft Office 2007 system files. The SAS products SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC File Formats, SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLE DB, and SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC use these Microsoft modules.
This behavior occurs in French and Danish editions of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system as well as in other European-language editions of Microsoft operating systems.
However, when installing SAS in English editions of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, Microsoft Office Access Database Engine 2007 is listed as an available component.
There are two options available that enable you to add the Microsoft Office Access Database Engine 2007 modules to Danish, French, or other European language editions of Microsoft operating systems:
- Download and run the file AccessDatabaseEngine.exe from the Microsoft Web page, 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components.
- Run the file AccessDatabaseEngine.exe from your SAS Software Depot image, located in:
drive-letter:\SAS Software Depot\products\sysreqwizard__92210__prt__xx__sp0__1\redist\ace\en.
