The following are various tips and techniques for troubleshooting the installation and configuration of SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint. Which tips you implement will vary according to the specifics of your installation.
SAS® 9.2, 9.3, and 9.4 Integration Technologies
The machine on which the SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint service runs must have the SAS Integration Technologies client for the Windows operating system installed. See SAS Note 36207: "Installing the SAS® 9.2 Integration Technologies client from a SAS Software Depot."
If the server is a Windows 2008 server, an installation failure message might occur.
SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint
Once the SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint service has been created, verify that the URL is correct and working properly. The URL uses the following convention:
https://machine name/SASWebPartsService/Service.svc
For example:
https://andrews05.trc.sas.com/SASWebPartsService/Service.svc
Note: The URL begins with https, not http.
Health and Diagnostics
SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint has a health and diagnostics URL that reports the current status:
http://machine name/_layouts/sas.webparts/diagnostics.aspx
For the SAS web parts 6.1 release the URL is:
http://machine name/_layouts/saswebparts/diagnostics.aspx
For example:
http://andrews05/_layouts/sas.webparts/diagnostics.aspx
http://andrews05.trc.sas.com/_layouts/sas.webparts/diagnostics.aspx
Or in the case or the 6.1 release:
http://andrews05/_layouts/saswebparts/diagnostics.aspx
http://andrews05.trc.sas.com/_layouts/saswebparts/diagnostics.aspx
SAS® BI Dashboard Configuration
The SAS BI Dashboard configuration section of the installation instructions includes a step to modify the bid.Midtier.trusted.URLs. These server names are not prefixed with http://. Note that this example does not have http:// prefixes:
andrews05,andrews05.trc.sas.com
SAS BI Dashboards and Stored Processes
If there is a SAS BI Dashboard or stored process that is not working, try it outside of SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint. For example, you could try them with the SAS® Information Delivery Portal.
