SAS Web Report Studio enables you to update resources for reports that no longer work because their associated information maps cannot be located. Typically, this problem occurs because the information map has been moved, renamed, or both. However, this problem can also occur for reports and information maps that have been promoted or migrated at different times.
Note: This feature is not intended as a way to change from one information map to a different one. If you use this feature for that purpose, make sure that you have a backup copy of the report before proceeding. In some cases, the XML for the report might contain dynamically generated identifiers. The presence of these identifiers might cause the report to break when it is associated with a different information map.
In this sample, users can no longer open a report named Product Sales because its associated information map has been renamed and moved to a different folder.
This is how the Product Sales report appeared before its associated information map was renamed and moved.
This is what users now see when they attempt to view the report.
In order to update resources, you must be assigned the capability Repair Report (release 4.2) or Update Resources (release 4.3 and later). Typically, only administrators can assign capabilities.
Note: If you do not see the option, contact your system administrator. If the option appears but you cannot select it, then the report cannot be updated.
Note: In this sample, the report has only one section, shown in the Report section(s) box. To locate the original information map for a specific section in a multi-section report, you would select the section name in this box.
Click Browse to open the Select Information Map dialog box and locate the moved and renamed information map. In this sample, the information map has been renamed from PRDSAL3 Map to Product Sales Map, and it has been moved from My Folder to a subfolder named Sales Maps.
