Usage Note 36211: Exporting to the same file from multiple export or communication nodes can cause unpredictable results
Using different communication or export nodes in the same campaign to export to the same file can cause multiple sets of data to be written to the file simultaneouly.
The problem occurs if, by default, the export definitions are defined with the Replace setting. In such a case, if you run a campaign that has multiple communications writing to the same output file, each export subsequently overwrites the previous export, and you get incorrect results.
The only workaround is for your administrator to change the concurrency setting in the Customer Intelligence plug-in in SAS
® Management Console so that the exports are run individually rather than concurrently. To change the setting:
- Select SAS Management Console ► Customer Intelligence ► Administration Resources ► Environment Settings.
- In the right pane, change the setting for Maximum number of concurrent processes per diagram to 1.
Be aware, however, that this workaround will cause performance issues.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
With this hot fix, the application sets one export definition to Replace, and it sets all other export definitions to Append. As a result, the first definition replaces the text in the target file, while all the other definitions are appended after the first export.
