Problem Note 35916: Insufficient memory and job failure might occur when you run SAS/ACCESS® Interface to DB2 on SAS® 9.2 in the z/OS operating environment

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Under z/OS, running SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2 on SAS 9.2 TS1M0, SAS 9.2 TS2M0, or SAS 9.2 TS2M2 uses significantly more memory than earlier releases of SAS. As a result, the job might fail or might respond with no error message written to the log because of insufficient memory. Two of the most common errors that are received are the following:

ERROR: Unable to perform a COMMIT WORK sqlcode = -2147481

ERROR: Out of memory

The only workaround is to continue increasing the allocated memory that is available to the job to see if the job can finish. However, it is possible that no matter how much memory is made available to the job, it still might fail.
