Problem Note 35837: Trace messages do not appear for the SQL statements INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE
When you connect to an Oracle database using a LIBNAME statement, you can use the SASTRACE= system option to generate trace information from a database management system (DBMS) engine. For example, if you set SASTRACE=',,,d', messages about the following SQL statements are sent to the SAS® log:
- COMMIT
- CREATE
- DELETE
- DROP
- INSERT
- ROLLBACK
- SELECT
- SYSTEM CATALOG
- UPDATE
This option is useful when you have a problem and you need to send a SAS log to SAS Technical Support for troubleshooting.
However, in SAS®9, trace messages for the DELETE, INSERT, and UPDATE statements no longer appear in the log.
