Usage Note 35453: "Stored Process Error - Unable to retrieve stored process. Check username permissions." displays when trying to run Web applications
After a SAS 9.2 Enterprise Business Intelligence or Business Intelligence Server installation, if you attempt to run the SAS Stored Process Web application, or other Web applications (including SAS® Web Report Studio, SAS® Information Delivery Portal, and so on,)
using the sasdemo credentials provided during the configuration phase, you might see the following errors.

These messages appear because the PUBLIC group is denied access to Web applications and servers.
To work around this error:
- Launch SAS® Management Console as the unrestricted user (that is, sasadm@saspw), and then select User Manager.
- Right-click SAS Demo User under the User, Group, or Role column in the right panel, and select Properties.
- Select the Accounts tab
- Select the respective login for the SAS Demo User and
click the Edit button.
- Verify that the value displayed for the User ID box is valid.
The value should be something like:
machinename\sasdemo
- Check the password and confirm password list boxes.
Note: If there is no User ID associated with the sasdemo account, then you will need to add one in the format
machinename\sasdemo.
- Ensure that the Authentication Domain is set to the default value, DefaultAuth.
- Click OK to close out of all screens
- Now, go back and try to run the SAS Stored Process Web Application, or your
respective Web application again.
