When you query a DBMS table or view and columns have matching names but not matching case, you will receive the following error:

ERROR: This DBMS table or view cannot be accessed by the SAS
System because it contains column names that are not unique 
when a SAS normalized (uppercased) compare is performed.

The following example shows two variables that have the same name but different cases: NEWVar and newvar.

To resolve this problem, use the Pass-Through facility to query the database and rename the columns.
