Problem Note 35931: Input table might be deleted or errors might occur with some tasks for certain output data in SAS® Enterprise Guide®
Errors or warnings similar to the following might be generated in SAS Enterprise Guide when running a task such as Summary Tables, Sort, Query Builder, or any task that generates an output dataset:
Error: You cannot delete WORK.Table_Name.DATA because WORK.Table_Name.DATA is in use by you in resource environment IOM ROOT COMP ENV.
WARNING: Table WORK.Table_Name has not been dropped.
ERROR: File WORK.Table_Name.DATA does not exist.
ERROR: No data set open to look up variables.
The problem will only occur when the input data set or table name is in the WORK library, and the task's output data set or table name has the same name as the input data set or table name. In some cases, the input WORK data set or table is also deleted.
To circumvent these problems, either give the output table a name that is different than the task's input table name, or use an input library other than WORK.
