Usage Note 35843: Enabling the XML tab in SAS® Information Map Studio
You can view the XML for an information map in SAS Information Map Studio. However, the XML is not visible by default. Follow these steps to display an XML tab that appears along with the Design and Relationships tabs.
- Exit SAS Information Map Studio.
- Navigate to the location of the IMSApplicationProperties.properties file. This file is stored in the following location based on the user who is logged on to the computer.
\Users\<user-logged-in-to-computer>\AppData\Roaming\SAS\SASInformationMapStudio\4.x
- Make a backup copy of this file.
- Open the active copy in a plain text editor.
- Add the following line to the end of the file.
showXMLTab=true
- Save the file.
- Restart SAS Information Map Studio.
- Before opening an information map, select Tools ► XML to display the tab. If you do not see the XML option, then make sure that you changed the properties file for the user who is currently logged on to the computer.
Note: If you open an information map before you select Tools ► XML, then the menu option will likely not be available. In addition, the IMSApplicationProperties.properties file might be modified to remove the line that you added. If this occurs, you must follow steps 1 through 5 again.
