The error appears if you added maintenance to an existing SAS Enterprise Miner 6.1 installation, but did not perform the SAS^® Analytics Platform server–restart specified in Product Specific Post Install Instructions.

To correct the error, restart the SAS Analytics Platform Server using the Product Specific Post Install Instructions (reproduced below):

To restart the SAS Analytics Platform server in a Window environment:

• At a command prompt, navigate to the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\AnalyticsPlatform directory and type:
  

  
  
  AnalyticsPlatform.bat start

Note: When you initially installed SAS, you might have selected Windows options: run as managed scripts or services in the SAS Deployment Wizard. If you selected this option, then the SAS Analytics Platform is run as a Windows Service. Generally, you can start the service by using the Services window. However, the first time that you restart the server after installing a maintenance release, you should not use the Services window. If you restart the server from the Services window, then the SAS Analytics Platform does not pick up the updates in the maintenance release.

1. At the UNIX prompt, navigate to the directory where the SAS Analytics Platform server is configured. Usually, this directory is SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/AnalyticsPlatform.
2. If the SAS Analytics Platform server is currently running, type ./AnalyticsPlatform.sh stop.
3. To start the SAS Analytics Platform server, type ./AnalyticsPlatform.sh start.
