Problem Note 35130: SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle is not supported on Linux for x64 when you run 32-bit SAS® software
SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle is not supported on Linux for x64 when you run 32-bit SAS software.
According to
SAS® 9.2 Foundation System Requirements for Linux® for Intel® Architecture, 32-bit
SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle is shipped with SAS on Linux for
x64.
When you run the 32-bit SAS® System, SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle requires a 32-bit Oracle client library. Oracle does not support a 32-bit Oracle client running on Linux for x64. Therefore, SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle is not supported when you run 32-bit SAS on a Linux 64-bit platform.
You can avoid this problem by running 64-bit SAS on Linux for X64 with the required 64-bit Oracle client, which is supported by both SAS and Oracle.
Operating System and Release Information
| SAS System | SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle | Linux | 9.1 TS1M3 SP4 | |
| Linux for x64 | 9.2 TS1M0 | |

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
Oracle does not support 32-bit Oracle library on the Linux for x64 platform; therefore SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle is not supported on Linux for x64 when you are run 32-bit SAS. With SAS® 9.2, the 64-bit version of SAS is available for this platform, so it works with the Oracle 64-bit client.
