Problem Note 34580: An SSL error occurs when you try to access a secure website

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Attempts to connect to a secure website using the URL engine and secure sockets layer (SSL) support fail when the server is configured with a canonical name. The SAS® log generates the following errors:

ERROR: SSL error is "The target principal name is incorrect. (0x80090322).". NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

This error occurs when SAS queries the web server host for its TCP name and the canonical name does not match the name that is used in the certificate and in the URL.
