Usage Note 34428: An "insufficient authorization" error might occur when using the GIF device driver with Enterprise Guide
The following errors can occur when using the GIF device driver with Enterprise Guide:
Error: Insufficient authorization to use "directory-name/sasgraph.gif".
Error: Unable to open graphics device I/O.
Error: Driver SASGDGIF will not load.
This problem can occur when you specifically set the device driver in Enterprise Guide to the GIF driver or when SAS automatically switches the default device driver to the GIF driver.
The problem will occur when Enterprise Guide adds the following ODS statement to any SAS/GRAPH code it generates or any prewritten SAS/GRAPH code submitted with Enterprise Guide:

To circumvent the problem, add the following statement to the beginning of any SAS code that you are submitting with Enterprise Guide:
Another way to circumvent the problem is to select Tools and then Options from the Enterprise Guide pulldown options menu. Then, on the left-hand side, under Results, select Results General. Then, on the right-hand side under Result Formats, deselect Text Output. Click OK to return to Enterprise Guide.
By deselecting Text Output under Result Formats, Enterprise Guide will automatically add the following statement to any generated or submitted SAS code:
