Problem Note 34212: Loss of precision can occur when you insert numeric values into a table that resides in a chained RLS library
Loss of precision can occur when you use SAS/CONNECT® or SAS/SHARE® software to insert numeric values into a table that resides in a chained Remote Library Services (RLS) library.
This loss of precision only happens if the involved hardware uses different endian byte order, as shown in this example:
Client1 (Windows) <--> Server1/Client2(Solaris) <--> Server2 (Windows)
In the example, if you insert a numeric value from Client1 into a table that resides on Server2, precision loss can occur. The loss occurs because Client1 and Server1 are on a Windows (little endian) platform, but they pass through Server1/Client2, which are on a Solaris (big endian) platform.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
Loss of precision can result if you use chained Remote Library Services (RLS) libraries across big endian and little endian hardware.
