Usage Note 34142: Obtaining an ODBC trace when you use SAS® Merchandise Planning
When you use SAS Merchandise Planning, you can obtain an ODBC trace, as follows:
- On the machine where your SAS Merchandise Planning is installed, navigate to the directory . . .SAS/retail/plan_61/config.
-
Open the odbc.ini file in the vi editor. You should see an entry similar to the following near the bottom of the file:
[ODBC]
IANAAppCodePage=4 ]
Trace=0 ]
InstallDir=.../612/SAS/retail/plan_61/lib/AIX/r64/odbc/lib ]
Driver=.../612/SAS/retail/plan_61/lib/AIX/r64/odbc/lib/odbctrac.so
TraceFile=.../612/SAS/retail/plan_61/logs/odbctrace.out
- In that entry, change Trace=0 to Trace=1.
This change sets up an ODBC trace. Do not set this trace until you are ready to do the test because it will output a lot of error, causing the log to increase. In addition, you might experience slow performance. The log path is available in the TraceFile= parameter shown in the example odbc.ini entry. By default, the log name is odbctrace.out. The errors listed in the log are more descriptive and extensive.
