If a stored process attempts to read from an Input Steam that contains no data, the SAS Stored Process Server will stop responding.

For example, if a stored process has an Input Stream called webin and the client application does not provide any data in this Input Stream when it invokes the stored process, then the following code will cause the Stored Process Server to stop responding.

data _null_;
  infile webin;  /* Input Stream is empty */
  input;
  list;
run;

An Input Stream can be specified using the SAS^® Management Console.

When running SAS Management Console in SAS^® 9.1.3, perform the following steps:

1. Select the Properties window for the stored process.
2. Select the Execution tab in the Properties window.
3. Click the Streams button.

When running SAS Management Console in SAS^® 9.2, perform the following steps:

1. Select the Properties window for the stored process.
2. Select the Data tab in the Properties window.
3. Click the New button.
4. Specify the Input Stream on the New Data Source window.
