Problem Note 34778: "ERROR: Unable to find a distinct observation..." in SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office when a source column name has a percent character
The Mean and Range Chart task might generate an error if a source column name
has a percent character. For example, if you attempt to import an Excel table that contains a field with the name
Yield %, you might see the following message:
WARNING: Since the variable _STDDEV_ is not in the LIMITS= data set, if
necessary, the _R_ variable will be used to form an estimate of the process
standard deviation. ERROR: Unable to find a distinct observation in the LIMITS=
data set corresponding to each process variable.
As a workaround, remove the percent sign from the source column before importing.
