Problem Note 34714: "ERROR: An unknown, abnormal error has occurred" can occur with ODS PDF or ODS RTF
The following error message can be generated when output from a SAS procedure or a DATA step is directed to ODS PDF or ODS RTF:
ERROR: An unknown, abnormal error has occurred.
This step is being terminated.
The error occurs if the style element FONT_SIZE is set to zero as part of a style element override, such as setting FONT_SIZE to 0 or 0pt in PROC TEMPLATE or in the style options in procedures allowing STYLE= syntax.
To circumvent the problem, specify a value of 1pt or greater for the FONT_SIZE style element. For example:
