Usage Note 34480: DBCS characters in SAS® Web Report Studio report names might cause problems when publishing to a channel
In SAS Web Report Studio, if the name of a report includes DBCS characters, you might have problems when attempting to publish the report to a channel.
When you publish to a channel, a SPK (SAS Package) file is created that contains a PDF version of the report. However, instead of the DBCS characters in the original report name, the PDF filename will contain garbage characters. As a result, if you use a third-party archive reader to read the package (such as WinZip or WinRAR), then the SPK file will likely fail to open.
As a workaround, use the SAS Package Reader, which can successfully open a SPK file that contains a PDF with garbage characters in its name.
Note: For information about the SAS Package Reader, see SAS Publishing Framework: Developer's Guide: SAS Package Reader.
