Problem Note 34462: Invocation of the Tomcat Servlet Container fails
When invoking the Tomcat Servlet Container for use in the SAS® Enterprise Business Intelligence Solution, the invocation might fail and stop responding. The Tomcat log file might not contain any errors but might end with the following statement:
system properties were read from a file.
This problem occurs when the Xythos WebDAV server was not started properly. Tomcat will not invoke properly if the Autoconnect feature in the SAS® Management Console is enabled and Xythos was not started properly.
For instructions on how to disable the Autoconnect feature in SAS Management Console, refer to SAS Note 13755.
After you disconnect the Autoconnect feature, restart Tomcat to ensure if it invokes properly. If Tomcat invokes properly, then the problem is related to the Xythos WebDAV server or its underlying database. You can resolve the problem by ensuring that certain directories reside in your system path.
If you are using Postgres as the underlying database for Xythos, ensure that following directories are listed in your system path:
C:\Program Files\SAS\pgsql\postgresql-8.0.3\bin;
C:\Program Files\SAS\pgsql\postgresql-8.0.3\lib;
If these directories are not present in the system path, then you should add them. The presence of these directories verify that the path to the libeay32.dll (that is specific to Postgres) is listed in the system path.
Note that you should verify that these paths are the correct paths for your system. Since other software products might also contain a libeay32.dll, verify that the following directories to the libeay32.dll for Postgres is listed first:
